Information about the final and the final grades

Can we have a practice final?
OK.  
Here is the 2006 final (including solutions).

Note that these old finals were not entirely multiple choice.  (The 2012 final is all multiple choice).
FYI: the average score on the 2006 final was 51/100; the average score on the 2005 final was 53/100.
(These corresponded to somewhere between a B and a B-)

When and where is the final?
In Broida 1610.  
MWF Final: Thursday, March 22, 12-3 pm.
TR Final: Wednesday, March 21, 12-3 pm.

Will there be a review section?
Yes.  Monday, March 19, 7:30 pm, Broida 1610  

What is the final on?

Chapter 1-11 in the textbook.  Some emphasis on the later chapters.

What is the format of the final?
Multiple choice, same as midterm.  Bring a scantron sheet.

Can I bring a cheat sheet?
Yes.  Up to 4 sheets. Double-sided

How will the letter grade be assigned?
On a curve.  
Quizzes: 20%
Midterm: 30%
Final: 50%

Are the Quizzes/Midterm/Final "curved"?
No.  Only the total will be curved.

How are the quizzes scored?
Sum the best 6 out of 8 scores; maximum is then 5*6=30.  Divide by 0.3.  This gives a number between 0 and 100.

How do I find out my quiz score?
It will be emailed to you (same system that we use for individual quizzes)

How do I know how good my quiz score is?
Compare your scores with the distribution of scores for the class.

What is my midterm score?
It was mailed to you a long time ago.
