Radiofrequency techniques

We believe that it is possible to measure the tritium spectrum, not with a classical electromagnetic spectrometer, but by a nondestructive measurement of the frequency, size, and shape of a beta electron's orbit in a magnetic field. We will be constructing a prototype system in which to explore this technique, and developing the calculations and simulations with which to extrapolate from the prototype to a large-scale experiment. See our recent preprint at http://arxiv.org/abs/0904.2860 for more information.
