KAPTON TEST TAIL VERSION HISTORY

 

Signal Tails:

Ver 1.00 CMS_SIGTAIL2.MAX 2ea made for test by Channel Circuits (SN's 1 & 2) 10/24/02, multiple shorts and opens following connector installation Connector backing plates installed. These units used for mechanical models only. Manufacturing problems encountered, polymide covered surface mount connector pads. It was necessary to scrape the polymide coating off of the pads so that connectors could be soldered on.

Ver 1.10 CMS_SIGTAIL2.MAX 4 ea made for test and evaluation by Channel Circuits. Polymide coating terminates at the connectors on both top and bottom resulting in a fracture point. Connectors installed on SN3 and 4 by LuAnn with success. Short found on SN 3 due to copper trace under polymide, repaired. SN3 and 4 both checked out on test stand.

Ver 1.12 CMS SIGTAIL3.MAX Design being updated prior to production run of 30 ea by Cirexx Corp of Santa Clara. Used on hybrids with up facing tail connectors.  Ordered 30 ea on 1/22/03 with 15 day delivery, Cirexx will install connectors and stiffiners. 

 

Ver 2.00 CMS_SIGTAIL4.MAX Design in process. Unit needed to eliminate twist on Hybrids with down facing signal tail connectors.

 

HV Tails:

Ver 1.00 CMS_HVTAIL2.MAX 2ea made for test by Channel Circuits (SN's 1 & 2) 10/24/02. Alignment holes for socket need to be moved for correct alignment. . Manufacturing problems encountered, polymide covered surface mount connector pads. It was necessary to scrape the polymide coating off of the pads so that connectors could be soldered on.

Ver 1.10 CMS_HVTAIL3.MAX 4ea made for test by Channel Circuits (SN's 3 &4)

 

Ver 2.00 CMS_HVTAIL4.MAX Design in process, unit needed to eliminate tail turn when connected to double sided Hybrids

Ver 3.00 CMS_HVTAIL5.MAX Design in process, unit needed to eliminate tail turn when connected to Rphi ss Hybrid. Requested quote for 30 ea which would include connector assembly 1/22/03.
