ARCS XML data is uploaded automatically from higgs (128.111.0.13) every night, as user cms. There are 3 relevant files:
This cronfile is installed under the cms account (~cms) on higgs. It executes 'clean_arcs.pl' at 8:00 pm and 'upload_arcs.pl' at 8:30 pm every night. It also executes some other programs to uplod the Gantry and OGP data. Crontab is the unix command used to install, modify, display, and uninstall the cronfile. Type 'man crontab' at a unix prompt for details.
Moves all Fast Test files from '//higgs/cms2/module/arcs_data/' to '//higgs/cms2/module/arcs_data/Fast_Tests/', provided they have the correct file name format. Moves all Module Summary files from '//higgs/cms2/module/arcs_data/' to '//higgs/cms2/module/arcs_data/Module_Summary_Logs/' provided they have the correct file name format. Only modules tested with a 14 digit number entered in ARCS have the correct file name format.
Attempts to upload all xml files in '//higgs/cms2/module/arcs_data/' to the Tracker DB, provided they have the correct file name format. If the upload is successful the xml file will be moved to '//higgs/cms2/module/indb/' with its extension changed from '.xml' to '.indb' and file of zero size with extension '.err' will be created in '//higgs/cms2/module/error/'. If the upload is not successful the xml file will be moved to '//higgs/cms2/module/error/' with its extension changed from '.xml' to '.err' and a message from the TrackerDB about why the file did not upload will be created in a file with extension '.txt' in '//higgs/cms2/module/error/'.
