Euler angles:
You may find this animated gif useful for visualizing Euler angles.
- Start with the body and space frames on top each other
- The 1st rotation is about the z-axis. In the notation of Taylor, the angle of rotation is PHI
- The 2nd rotation is about the body y-axis. In the notation of Taylor, the angle of rotation is THETA
- The 3d and final rotation is about the body z-axis. In the notation of Taylor, the angle of rotation is PSI
