LDAP address books for Thunderbird

LDAP(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) directory is very useful and available from many institutions. Here is the illustration of using LDAP address books on Thunderbird

 

On the Thunderbird window

 

Open Address Book window by

-         Click the Address Book icon, OR,

-         Pull down Tools menu and select Address Book


Open the Directory Server Properties window by

Pull down the File menu, select New menu, select LDAP Directory…

Base DN: [look at the list below]

Port number: 389 (default)

Bind DN: [blank]
