Minutes of the Mar 31, 2005 US ROD meeting

Follow up on action items

  1. The dryer for the UCSB compressed air system has not yet arrived.
Still waiting. Note added: arrived on April 5th.

  2. Frederick confirmed the failure of the reset command to reach
rods in the FNAL SR system but other than that there has not
    been much progress.
Problem persists on FNAL SR. No news.

  3. Still problems with DefAna file corruption.
Javier claim to have fixed it. We need to test it.
Note added: Patrick tried it and he thinks it's OK

  4. Jim has not yet started talking to JT about scripting the
comparison between ARCS and rod data.

  5. Noise studies in the UCSB MR system are on hold.

UCSB

A module on one of the 1st assembled HPK rods (Rod 202) developed pinhole
and huge current. Confirmed on ARC. Visually correlated with scratch.
Could be handling problem in rod production? Something to watch for.

Added 3rd cooling plate for DS rod cooling. Still to be tested.

Rod with header errors from FNAL arrived. Header errors confirmed. See elog.

Discovered that problem with weird pulse shape is an internal Lt software-analysis bug. See elog.
But we do not have a solution yet.

FNAL

The hunt for a header error fix continues...
Both FNAL and UCSB to send grounding diagram to to Guido at CERN.
UCSB diagram is here.

Built four SS6. Some shorts developed between LT and and rod testing.
See elog here and here.
Some unexplained position correlations.

This was an entry from the previous week, I am
not sure if it is resolved. Will revisit next week?
Components for assembly of spare cables etc from Duccio still not here.
Shipment from CERN this week, maybe then?
