Minutes of the June 16, 2005 US ROD meeting

Still not clear why CERN does not see I2C failures.

Measurements of PS noise at CERN: quiter than in US, but not enough
to explain differences.

Follow up on action items and new action items

  1. FNAL: Tested bunch of new HPK rods in SR. Two out of six have broken or shorted
termistor. Strange because Lenny says that these are chcked on rod frame.
Possibilities: bad check on rod frame, or bad connection through flat cable, or bad DCU on hybrid.
    Check module fast-test
    Probe with multimeter
Modules in question are on rods.
Old measurements OK. Will look when the modules come off rods.

  2. FNAL: some bad DCU voltrages on SR, but not on MR. Needs fix.
    Not clear. Wim committed fix.
Check env, then PIA reset. Ryan to double-check
  3. According to Sandro's email, there should be no
    I2C transactions in broadcast mode.
    Wim to fix Lt.

  4. V29 at FNAL runs faster. Why?
Confirmed at UCSB. CalProf takes 17 minutes in peak on one rod.

FNAL

Two unmodified rods also give 64 and 68 errors
Very suspicious of SW. Try more unmodified rods.
Wim Frederic Guido trying to figure it our.
Error only shows up in Lt, not with script.
Even more suspicious of new Lt bug.
Error not seen at UCSB, but there may be SW differences.

Sent rod with DCU errors to UCSB for check.

UCSB

Replaced o-rings on flowmeters: looked like they were disintegrating.
Catalog said: made of vitan, vitan bad for C6F14, (should use buna, for example).
