UCSB ____ 6 SS6 and 8 SS4 rods have been modified (solution 6). Of these all of the SS6 and 3 of the SS4 have SR tested and the SS6 rods have been through 4 days of MRT running. Experiencing time tune errors in the SRT and one rod shows no communication. [RH: Clean fiber connections thoroughly.] High noise seen in deconvolution mode. Test results from the MRT for the 6 SS6 rods are basically fine, but One module had high noise in deconvolution mode and some missing plots. Numerous "failure to set MUX" messages time tune errors header errors 111000 for one module 76 for another module Main Analyzer used to look at ROOT file and make plots. Yuri will analyze the same way. FNAL ____ Ryan showed several slides http://agenda.cern.ch/fullAgenda.php?ida=a054608 34 rods have been modified based on solution 6 and all 34 have been SR tested (Cengiz reported the last test during the meeting). 5 of the rods have issues: 3 thermistor 1 laser 1 bad noise Duccio's request taken into account in selecting rods for modification. Negative humidity measurements understood - conversion function out of date. Readings now appear to be reasonable. DCU readings distinguish between one thermistor and two thermistor opens. (The 10k thermistors are in parallel). Both cases seen. The double open could also be occurring on the Interconnect card. Yuri 18 modified rods have been MRT tested using the extended, 3-day scenario Scenarios run to completion and data is present so that rods can be qualified, but Diagnostic log files unacceptably large. "Megabytes" Still see I2C errors 64 and 68 (not seen at UCSB) Two modules show 230 errors! (One of the modules was replaced and the error went away.) Need to follow up with Johnson, Matulik. Parasitic capacitance? No evidence for any new problems on day 3 of the extended scenarios. Would like to go back to production (2-day) scenario. General _______ FNAL aiming to ship a crate around 7/20 (~28 modified rods, ~12 rod frames requiring modifications/cleaning/inspection). Would like to continue modifying and assembling rods at some level to get more experience with SRT and MRT systems. Shipment should largely satisfy SS6 component of Duccio's request. Postscript __________ The next day Ryan traced one of the double-open thermistor readings to a lack of continuity on the Interconnect card. Not clear if the problem is a solder connection, via problem, or break in one of the layers. Should be able to swap ICC's..Looking into single thermistor open example.
