Minutes of the Feb 10, 2005 US ROD meeting
Follow up on pending action items from last week's meeting:
- UCSB: can we improve humidity to go to lower T in multirod?
Need new air dryer. Identified. Will order.
- Want to read all DCU out, put in root file.
Done, see
Ryan's message.
Next Step: These should somehow be reported in data analysis,
first in SR, then in multirod
- Check all rod monitoring
Ryan and Ricardo have a plan on how to measure various
thermistors and humidity sensors. Will implement
necessary small hardware config, then make two copies
(one for FNAL, one for UCSB).
- Standalone redundancy ring check
Checked at FNAL by Wim. Looks good so far, but needs new FEC
driver and SW. Tests will continue.
- Defect analyzer crashing, Puneeth to follow up with Valeri, Lionel.
Looks like Valeri is out of the picture. Lionel might help,
but who knows. This is a problem!
- Jim to start talking to JT about scripts for ARC/ROD comparison
No news
- Yuri to talk to Wim, figure out what DAQ settings should be
Started talking. Will have a full set of settings next week.
- Jim to talk to Valeri, figure out what to do with analysis
type settings.
Done. MODPED=1 TSKIP=10. Also see
this presentation
Stability Issues on MR
UCSB stable. FNAL stable with six rods, not with eight. Errors are FEC,
HEADER, MUXLOOP. Still working with Wim.
Noise
UCSB: with improved grounding at UCSB MR now has noise for opens
below normal, as it should. The rods are grounded to the case and to the
wall. Also, comparison of noise with ARC ssystem, using the
charge injection to normalize the gains of the lasers, looks OK.
FNAL: SR has 1-sensor open noise OK (lower than normal), but
2-sensor opens not. See Ryan's mail.
MR, no info on noise yet.
Other news
at Wim's suggestion, UCSB ran tests to speed up DAQ. Increase trigger
frequency: works. Change direct FEC access: two crashes, but unrelated. Not
clear.
